Meet Adeline Yu
I have been a social worker and counsellor for many years. My work experiences include non-profit and immigrant social services, Ministry of Child and Family Development, Child and Youth Mental Health and Health Authority. I have worked with people who have gone through life changing traumatic events and have supported them to work through their grief, rediscover their inner strengths, and find ways to flourish and live a meaningful and harmonious life.
Areas of support
I am here to help with:
Grief
Losing a loved one is a challenge we all have to unfortunately face. Together, we can navigate this inevitable occurrence without giving it the power to cripple our ability to live life to the fullest.
Life Changing Events
Accidents, illness, immigration, moving, career change, job loss, divorce. These life changing events are traumatic but can also be an opportunity for growth through counselling.
Self-Esteem
Constant self doubt, lack of self worth; these feelings are very uncomfortable. I will work with you to understand these feelings, and help you learn to be kind to yourself.
Relationships
Parent and child, co-workers, bosses, spouses, partners, in-laws, and sibling relationships can be challenging at times. Counselling can help you gain a new perspective on these relationships
Emotional Distress
Depressive mood, anxiety, and worrying thoughts make daily life much less enjoyable. Working through these emotions and developing healthy coping mechanisms are ways I can help you through emotional distress.
