With many years of experience working with clients from all walks of life, Adeline Yu is a veteran of social work and counselling. She began her educational journey at UBC, earning a bachelor’s degree in psychology (BA Psychology). She then obtained a bachelor’s degree in social work (BSW) from McGill University, and went on to complete a master’s degree in social work (MSW) at Dalhousie University. She recently made the decision to return to schooling and is currently enrolled in the Pastoral Studies Certificate program at UBC St. Mark's College.

Throughout her career, Adeline has gained experience utilizing various therapeutic approaches, including the strength-based approach, the solution focused model, a pastoral counselling approach, emotion focused therapy (EFT), and numerous relaxation techniques. Using these approaches, she has supported clients through major life changes, traumatic events, and grief, allowing them to rediscover their inner strengths and find meaning in life. Grounded in her Catholic faith, she believes all humans are created in the loving image of God, and, therefore, have the potential to live fruitful lives despite life’s inevitable pain and suffering.
